This will be the 30th running of the world class 10K road race in Orange County, New York. Inspired by Middletown’s Olympic Marathon Gold and Silver Medal winner, Frank Shorter, the Classic 10K attracts elite and local runners alike. Created in 1981, the first race featured a duel between Frank Shorter and marathon extraordinaire Bill Rodgers. Bill and Frank returned to do it again in 2007, albeit at a middle-of-the-pack pace, which put them in contention with our local runners. Last year featured the most exciting finish ever, with less than a second separating victorious Steve Chemlany from Worku Beyi and Ketema Nigusse. Visit our Results page for exciting video coverage of the races! Join us this year for all of the family festivities at the brand new, state-of-the-art track and stadium at Middletown High School ! |
