Frank Shorter talks about Community

Olympic Marathon Gold Medalist Frank Shorter has traveled the world during his lifetime and has pretty much seen it all. Originally, a Middletown native, Frank has a unique perspective when it comes to community. On the Awards stage at the 2006 Classic 10K, Frank described Orange County as "a group of neighborhoods, which come together to form one big community."

The Classic 10K Road Races are, first and foremost, about the RACE, but the race couldn’t happen without the support of the community.

Our primary mission is to have The Classic 10K Road Races make a profound and lasting improvement in the quality of life for the citizens of Orange County. Healthy living and giving is what the Classic is all about!

We wish to empower the residents of Orange County and, hopefully, those who live beyond our boundaries, by participating in something very special – The Classic 10K Road Races. Doing is better than watching. By hosting and participating in a World Class road racing event, watchers can become doers.
